Santana Dickerson

Temple Trainer since — 2026

I've been teaching movement for a long time, starting with barre, and I've been at Temple since the doors opened at the beginning of 2026 — first as a client who kept coming back, then as an instructor since this past June. I'm passionate about movement that meets you where you're at and still has the nerve to challenge you; to me, that's the whole point of community fitness.

Outside of Temple you'll find me on the tennis court, out for a jog with my youngest, or sweating it out at next door at Apex (hi, 530 am). Staying strong and finding joy in movement is something I want my kids to see, not just hear about. Outside of exercise: I enjoy slow(or chaotic) moments with three humans and my husband.

During the day I'm a primary care provider working to bridge access to endocrine care here in Bellingham. I spend my clinic days talking about hormones, metabolism, and aging well, and a place like Temple is where I can hand people the tangible piece — the strength, stability, and stress relief that essential parts of the plan.

What Makes Temple Different than other Fitness Classes?

The variety, the community, and the intention behind every movement. Temple gives you room to build core stability and real strength, but it also lets you read your body on a given day — push hard when you have it, taper back when you don't. Very few classes make space for both.

What about Temple Fitness Inspires you?

It never gets easier. That's the point. Every class is a chance to see what my body can do now, and that keeps me coming back. After my third baby, low-impact work was muy importante for pelvic floor and core strength— Temple let me recover and keep moving through the process.

Favorite movement or aspect of Temple?

The balance challenges — weighted work on the stability pad or a BOSU. Stabilizer muscles, deep core, and pelvic floor are wildly underrated, and I'd argue that from a hormone lens too: slowing down and moving with control is one of the simplest ways to keep cortisol in check
